GABRIËL The teacher matters! Soof taught us the basics of shuffling in an enthusiastic and calm manner, empathizing with our beginner level and allowing everyone to learn at their own pace. She creates a truly pleasant learning atmosphere. Soof adapted the music to our preferences and the steps to our level, which also varied considerably, and she paid attention to that. Soof created a very enjoyable and active family outing for us—three people in their sixties and three in their thirties. For some of us, it was our first dance lesson ever, and we really enjoyed it. Highly recommended if you're looking for an active workshop!
ALVARO We booked a workshop at Amsterdam Ravers Academy as a birthday surprise for two friends who love raving, and honestly… it was a blast. None of us knew how to dance when we walked in — like zero. Sophie picked this up instantly and somehow managed to get us from “what do I do with my feet?” to actually stringing together steps by the end of the session. T-step, rocking, Melbourne running man, X-step, W-step… so many terms we were not aware of. Sophie’s energy made the whole thing. She kept the vibe high, paid attention to every single one of us, gave tips without making it awkward, and made sure we were genuinely having fun the whole time. After the session she even sent us the breakdown of the moves and playlists so we can keep practicing. We went in as a bunch of clueless 30-year-olds trying something new, and we left actually considering making this a recurring thing. Couldn't recommend it more!
