I'm Soof, your dedicated Shuffle Dance teacher and founder of ARA.
Since 2015, Shuffle Dance has been my heartbeat. It’s in my routine ever since I discovered this energetic dance style.
In 2018, I found my fellow Shufflers in the Netherlands, and that moment sparked a new chapter in my dance story.
Now, at Amsterdam Ravers Academy, we celebrate not only the individuality of each dancer but also the strength and unity that comes from being part of a vibrant dance community. Welcome to ARA!

I'm Soof, your dedicated Shuffle Dance & Cutting Shapes teacher, and founder of ARA.
Since 2015, Shuffle Dance has been my heartbeat. It’s in my routine ever since I discovered this energetic dance style.
In 2019 I started teaching in Amsterdam and now ARA is going all places. You can find my weekly lessons in Amsterdam. And book me at any event in your city.
Over the years, I’ve had the joy of teaching dancers from age 4 to 70 - from absolute beginners to seasoned shufflers, each with their own spark and goals. I absolutely love the variety and energy every dancer brings.
In my lessons, we dive into technique, choreography, and freestyle. I’ll guide you in unlocking your creativity, finding your groove, and embracing that full-on freedom of self-expression. Every dancer brings something unique to our Raver family.

Hey Ravers!
My name is Levi and I'm your DnBstep teacher here at the academy. I've always loved dancing and moving my body since I was small. Even though I never followed any shuffle lessons as a kid, you could definitely see the beginnings of a t-step and a charleston in my movements. That means there's another universe out there where I'd be shuffling along with all of the other Ravers but alas, the Drum and Bass community got to me first.
In 2019 I was introduced to DnB and "skanking", a powerful and snappy dance that was done at all DnB events. This new dance opened up a whole new world for me to throw myself into and I soon started practicing with any and all YouTube videos I could find. In 2022 I went to my first "DnBstep" competition, where I was left floored by the crazy movements that people were doing and I wanted to learn to do the same. As soon as I was home I signed up for my first DnBstep workshop and learned all about DnBstepping and how it was different from what I'd been doing before. With the extra structure for practicing and the increased space for creativity I was able to evolve as a dancer and got to meet a whole lot of amazing people.
Now I host my own workshops in order to spread the love for this amazing dance and its music. In my lessons you'll learn all about the basics, kicks and tricks you need in order to start combining, freestyling and expressing your own creativity!

Hi Ravers!
My name is Venus and I started Shuffle/Cutting Shapes just a little over two years ago. Something about rediscovering a childhood passion for dance through this style ignited a spark in me that I hadn't felt in years.
I spent the first year of learning how to Shuffle/Cut Shapes all by myself and was utterly obssessed. I would watch Shuffle videos any time I wasn't dancing and sometimes I'd even Shuffle in my dreams.
As soon as I returned to the Netherlands, I joined Soof's lessons and the amount of indelible memories I've created since is wild. I feel like I've grown so much as a dancer already just from having met, observed and exchanged with so many inspiring people. I can't wait to see how much more there is to discover along this journey.
All of this is why I want to share this passion with others and help them discover the magnificent world of Shuffle and Cutting Shapes too. Wanting to share the joy of dance with others has given me a sense of purpose which at some point in my life I was worried I may never find.
To now be a part of the ARA team is such an honor. I can't wait to see you in class!
