The Return of the Walk. Dottz and Khaysonn  📍 Amsterdam

 

There are a flurry of complex footwork combinations at the heart of this unique street culture style. Originating in Los Angeles, early 1970s as a method of communication and expression, the 'walk' has evolved further by every generation that picks up the artform.

 

With origins in C-walk, Breakdance and Hiphop variant styles, together Khaysonn and Dottz will introduce a timeline of c-walk combo elements that are woven into their alternative shuffling and cuttingshapes styles. A very rare opportunity to learn something different, expand your style and experience the art forms that have grown all over the world alongside our community. 

 

Prepare for a challenge from the norm, with hip-hop combinations you may have never considered. Bring an open mind and have a great experience stepping this way.

 

This masterclass includes:

• A series of essential c-walk combos, from the base V-step variations, to advanced travelling heel toe variations and rapid looping step sequences.

• A stylised choreography to stitch together combos and let them sink in.

• Cypher opportunities to share and showcase this alternative powerful style in your own way.

 

This class will take place on Saturday, offering another great opportunity to practice with the community, and also attend a social shuffle meet-up in the city during the same weekend.
